Media Files in the Realix Designer include images, videos, and audio that enhance the game experience. These files are used in effect sequences, scripts, and interactive game elements to add multimedia elements that support gameplay, atmosphere, and storytelling.
All media files are stored within the project in three libraries—video, audio, and image—keeping them organized in a central location. This setup ensures that media assets are easily accessible and can be kept with the project. When needed, files are uploaded to the server, making them available to devices capable of playback or display. Devices that can utilize these files include the Realix Media Box, Realix Web Player, and External Service. While the Realix Media Box and Web Player are specifically designed to handle video, audio, and image files, the External Service is a customizable component that can support media playback, but it’s also adaptable for other custom behaviors, such as reading inputs or controlling outputs.
By organizing media resources in this centralized library, you ensure they remain synchronized with the project and readily available for various game elements and custom device interactions..
Multi-Language Support for Media Files
The media library supports multi-language functionality, allowing you to create language-specific versions of media files by prefixing file names with the relevant language code. For instance, if your primary language is Dutch and English is also supported, you would define:
Intro video.mp4
for Dutch (primary language)[en]Intro video.mp4
for English
In effect sequences, you select the default, unprefixed file, and the system will automatically use the appropriate language version based on the game language settings. This approach ensures a cohesive experience for players in their preferred language.
Game Host Application Use
In addition to game-based effects, images in the media library can serve as Game Host Information. For example, images can be displayed within the Game Host application to provide visual aids or show solution information to game operators. This capability enables you to incorporate essential visual elements that support the Game Host, ensuring that all necessary resources are part of the project.
